WELLNESS / PREVENTATIVE CARE:
From the day you bring home your new pet to their last day, Sunrise Veterinary Services is here for you and your family. We will work with you to set up an appropriate vaccination protocol for your animal’s unique needs. We will recommend fecal examinations for parasites followed by proper deworming to help to keep your pet happy and healthy. In addition, Heartworm testing, Lyme Disease testing and management, plus screening blood work are all part of the complete care your pet can receive at Sunrise Veterinary Services. Keep in mind that Lyme disease is quite prevalent in this area and keeping pets up to date on vaccinations is extremely important!

DENTAL CLEANINGS:
Dental health is an important, but often overlooked aspect of your pet’s overall health! Bad breath can signify underlying dental disease which may pose a serious risk to your pet’s internal organs. The veterinarians and technicians at Sunrise Veterinary Services would love to discuss our dental services with you! See our Dental Page for additional information!
SURGERY:

We offer a variety of surgical procedures and options here at Sunrise. You can rest assured that when your pet comes to Sunrise for surgery, it is in very capable hands. Surgical patients are given pre-anesthetic medication to relax them. Then we place an IV catheter in their vein through which a small amount of anesthetic is delivered to put them under. We also give intravenous fluids to help maintain your pet’s blood pressure. Then, we place an endotracheal tube through which we can deliver gas anesthetic, just like in human medicine, to keep the patient sleeping and comfortable for the duration of the surgery. We prefer using this gas anesthetic due to the level of safety this provides for your pet. And to make absolutely sure that your pet remains at the perfect level of anesthesia, a Certified Veterinary Technician monitors your pet throughout surgery, and the technician will stay right with your pet and continue to monitor as your pet wakes up from surgery. Most routine surgical patients wake up quickly enough that they are actually able to go home the same day as surgery was performed! Pain Management Medications will be sent home with you to continue helping your pet through any pain and inflammation issues that they may experience following a procedure. We'll also send home a special food to help your pet's digestive system recover from the anesthetic process.
SICK CARE:
The gentle staff at our clinic are ready to care for your pet during times of distress. Radiographs, bloodwork, and close examinations are just a few of the ways we can assess and diagnose your pet. In addition, our staff will work with you and your pet to help manage chronic diseases.
Microchipping:For the safety of your pet, we recommend micro-chipping. This is an implant that can be put in place as an out-patient procedure right here at Sunrise. The microchips that we use can be read by any of the Universal chip readers so that if you get separated from your pet, it can be safely returned to you regardless of what shelter or hospital your pet may be taken to.

DIETS:
We carry Hill's Science Diets and Royal Canin food products in both over-the-counter and prescription varieties.
We can also special order Purina products and have them here quickly.
We do not generally recommend the grain free diets that are being marketed to appeal more to what PEOPLE think a dog might want, rather than what is actually best for the dog. Click here for information on choosing a good food for your pet.
